About Typing Rain
Typing Rain is a free typing game for kids. Colorful raindrops fall from the clouds, and each one carries a letter. Press that letter on the keyboard to pop the raindrop before it splashes on the grass. Later on, whole words like CAT, FISH and JUMP fall too.
How to play
- Type the letter shown on a raindrop. On a phone or tablet, tap the big keys at the bottom of the screen.
- For a word, type its letters in order. The letters you have typed turn yellow.
- Letters are worth 1 point and words are worth 3. Ten in a row wins back a heart.
- You have 3 lives. A raindrop that lands costs one.
Learns at your child's pace
The game starts with the home row keys (A, S, D, F, J, K, L) that typing teachers start with. Then it adds the most common letters, then the whole keyboard, then three- and four-letter words. Raindrops fall slowly at first and speed up as your score grows.
Typing practice builds keyboard skills that kids use for years at school. Typing Rain is free in the browser on computers, tablets and phones, with no sign-up and nothing to download.
