About Connect Four
Connect Four is the classic four-in-a-row board game, free to play online against a friendly robot. You drop red discs and the robot drops yellow ones. The first to line up four discs in a row (across, up and down, or diagonally) wins!
How to play
- Tap a column to drop your red disc. It falls to the lowest empty space.
- Then the robot takes its turn.
- Get four in a row to win 3 points. A full board with no winner is a draw and is worth 1 point.
- You have 3 lives. Each time the robot wins, you lose one.
- On a computer you can also use the arrow keys and Enter, or the number keys 1 to 7.
A robot that learns with you
At the start the robot is quite easy and sometimes forgets to block you. Every time you win, it gets a little smarter: it blocks more of your lines and avoids giving you easy wins. Can you keep beating it?
Connect 4 teaches planning ahead, spotting patterns and thinking about what the other player will do. It is free on phones, tablets and computers, with no sign-up and nothing to download.
